Aquaculture

    Aquaculture (aquaculture) is a form of maintenance and breeding of various kinds of aquatic animals or plants that use water as a principal component. Common activities including the cultivation of fish, shrimp farming, cultivation of oysters, seaweed (algae). With the above limitations, the actual coverage is very extensive aquaculture but mastery of technology restricts certain commodities that can be applied.                                         

    Aquaculture is a form of fishculture, to be contrasted with catch. in Indonesian, aquaculture is done through of various means. Cultivation activities most commonly performed is in the pool / pond, ponds, tanks, cages, as well as floating cages. the current prospects of graduates from this study program itself is quite high, because considering that 70% territory of Indonesia is the sea and the rest is land.   

    There are some colleges that offer majors aquaculture is one of them is in the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, excellence as well as its own advantages in the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, among others:            

              

1. Department of Fisheries Aquaculture Program has been accredited A (Very Good).This proves that the course is able to compete with the same course of study at state universities.

2. Department of Fisheries has been equipped with a representative of academic facilities, both lecture and laboratory facilities, including a multimedia lecture hall and various lab facilities. such as indoor and outdoor pools, lab.seeding, lab. nutrition, lab. microbiology, etc.

3. One of the flagship programs in the Department of Fisheries is Fishery Business Practices (PUP). The program is implemented for a semester in groups and aims to train students in entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurship).

4. Each new student will get the facility Field Trip to various government-owned Fisheries Center and the famous private fishing companies.
